Our Beneficiaries
At Ripple Learning, our purpose is to create a sustainable ripple effect of positive change. We do this not only through our learning programs but also by reinvesting profits into youth mental health services that support those most often left behind—the ‘forgotten’ or ‘missing’ middle.
Who Are the ‘Forgotten Middle’?
At Ripple Learning, our purpose is to create a sustainable ripple effect of positive change. We do this not only through our learning programs but also by reinvesting profits into youth mental health services that support those most often left behind—the ‘forgotten’ or ‘missing’ middle.
Our Current Beneficiaries
We are proud to support two exceptional organisations that provide frontline, effective, and compassionate mental health support to young people:
KYDS Youth Youth Counselling
KYDS has been providing free, confidential counselling and mental health support to young people and their families since 2005. Their services are tailored to meet the needs of young people who are navigating significant life challenges and require more sustained support than many mainstream services can offer.
Stepping Stone House
Stepping Stone House supports homeless and at-risk young people through long-term accommodation, life skills programs, and mental health support. Their wraparound approach gives young people a safe, stable environment where they can heal, grow, and thrive.
How We Select Our Beneficiaries
Each year, Ripple Learning reinvests profits into not-for-profit organisations that meet a rigorous set of criteria. Beneficiaries are selected based on:
- DGR status: Must be a registered non-profit with Deductible Gift Recipient status (Tier 1 or 2).
- Type of support: Services must provide mental health support for young people; including individual counselling, psychosocial or peer support.
- Community-based: Must have deep local roots and impact.
- Independence: Cannot be affiliated with political or religious organisations.
- Cost-effectiveness: Must operate efficiently, with service delivery costs comparable to similar providers.
- Alignment with national standards: Delivery must reflect the principles recommended by the National Children’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy—including young person centered, accessible, strengths-based, needs-driven, systemic, holistic and feedback informed.
Expressions of Interest
Each January, we open a window for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible organisations who wish to be considered as a future beneficiary. While we are not currently accepting EOIs, you can visit our EOI page to learn more about the process and requirements for future consideration.
A Ripple Effect That Matters t
Every workshop you attend or partner program you undertake with Ripple Learning helps support these vital services. Thank you for helping us build a ripple of real, lasting change in the lives of young people.
