Bruce Christie

Bruce enjoyed two careers, first as an engineer in the building products industry for 15 years in Australia and overseas, then for 30 years as a financial adviser, managing his own practice in Sydney. During this time, Bruce was a Director of the Sydney Community Foundation for 10 years and established an informal group of financial advisers interested in assisting clients with their philanthropic goals.

Since retiring in 2018, Bruce has worked as a volunteer with Community Care Northern Beaches (CCNB) helping them to broaden their service to clients by providing financial guidance on aged care.

More recently, Bruce has helped Helen Jarvis establish Ripple Learning, a new social enterprise to generate funds to support youth mental health.

Bruce has been actively involved with the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove for nearly 20 years and was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow. He has also helped develop a series of webinars on financial guidance for young Rotarians as well as published a book to pass on his financial insights and experience, particularly aimed at young adults.
